The look like they are from that line up yonder that we talked about. The genes are there you should get some nice chicks from them this spring. This guy was a string man that brought 400 chickens to Knoxville show a few weeks ago and then unloaded them. Normally, string man buy birds from the top breeders. Good find for the price you paid.

This is a very good example of white wyandottes. True to breed and if you order some off the Internet they would never come close to this quality. May I ask how long have you had these nice birds and if not to long who was the strain from. Excellent examples of what a Wyandotte should look like. I saw today some of the best Dark Brahmas I have seen in twenty years out of Texas. I am so excited about them I am thinking of getting some from this breeder. This is a very rare breed and color and they are champion large fowl of the show material in my view.

Thanks for posting your pictures you have excellent birds and maybe others would love to have some of your birds. For you who live in the frigged cold climates these would be perfect birds as their combs will not freeze like single combs will. bob
Kind words!

Mr. Blosl: Answers to your questions: Next spring will be my first season hatching these large wyandottes. I bought these birds from Jonathon Patterson from Indiana. Being not all that far, I went to his place to select and pick up the birds. He and his father, Ron Patterson both have very nice birds. I do think that I have a very nice foundation of birds to work with here.

Something I found out this past week. I have had issues like nothing else turning birds blue, purple and not getting stains out. I decided to try this other shampoo for horses. Designed to clean Palominos, paints, etc. and you can put it directly on the animal. It's called Rose Shampoo "White Magic". Seriously...I put it directly on my bird and used a toothbrush to brush the soap down into the feathers. I brushed it with the grain of the feather. Do not scrub. And do it a few days before the show so that they can preen back into the

So I tried it with my birds. I did it on a "junk" bird first to see if it would work. It did!

Here's before and after shots of my good Langshan bantam pullet:

That is amazing!

Rose Shampoo "White Magic".
====================
How will it work on the black parts of a columbian bird?
Thanks,
Karen
Is this it?

P.S.
Chris Christensen also makes a line for show dogs. For Black, Red, Gold , and White.

I especially like the explanation of how they work under the White on White shampoo webpage.
Taking a closer look, I see my question on columbian birds answered as the White on White
explains the W on W also intensifies the other colors present on a white animal.

To help with keeping white birds clean, it seems to help alot that I have put them on clean wood shavings. When they are on straw, they just don't stay as clean it seems.
