How may large fowl rose combs do you have can you sell eggs or chcks to beginners? bob
Hi bob. In the spring of 2010 I got the very last shipment of the year from adrian radamacher- 16 rc rir . culled heavily and now have 3 cocks and 5 hens. I will be using 2 of the cocks and 3 of the hens in a breeding project for the spring of 2011. Also for this season I will be working with rir sc stock from william benett and Dominiques from ray berry. Being I have only a couple years breeding and little hatching experience , this season will be one of learning and the development of my own flock.I do plan to sell a few locally to promote myself and to garner some local interest but I am a long way from anywhere thus "western edge". I have invested considerable time and money in the last couple of years including brooders, feeders and waterers, fencing ,nest boxes, breeding stock, the remodeling of two building for coops including but not limited to (haha) floors, wiring, insulation, etc etc ..... and recently got a GREAT deal on A couple of GQF cabinet incis and a hatcher. I do have a few year into it already and being raised on the farm around poultry and beef cattle, I have a strong backround and practice good animal husbandry. I will not raise for showing but plan on staying close to standard as I can. By next season I should have some great beginner stock and do plan on sharing it. I may consider selling hatching eggs later this spring.
