How may large fowl rose combs do you have can you sell eggs or chcks to beginners? bob

Hi bob. In the spring of 2010 I got the very last shipment of the year from adrian radamacher- 16 rc rir . culled heavily and now have 3 cocks and 5 hens. I will be using 2 of the cocks and 3 of the hens in a breeding project for the spring of 2011. Also for this season I will be working with rir sc stock from william benett and Dominiques from ray berry. Being I have only a couple years breeding and little hatching experience , this season will be one of learning and the development of my own flock.I do plan to sell a few locally to promote myself and to garner some local interest but I am a long way from anywhere thus "western edge". I have invested considerable time and money in the last couple of years including brooders, feeders and waterers, fencing ,nest boxes, breeding stock, the remodeling of two building for coops including but not limited to (haha) floors, wiring, insulation, etc etc ..... and recently got a GREAT deal on A couple of GQF cabinet incis and a hatcher. I do have a few year into it already and being raised on the farm around poultry and beef cattle, I have a strong backround and practice good animal husbandry. I will not raise for showing but plan on staying close to standard as I can. By next season I should have some great beginner stock and do plan on sharing it. I may consider selling hatching eggs later this spring.

I just wanted to share what I have and hope is a great start to my successfull breeding season for 2011's 1st Hatch. 95% ratio so I am happy.

SQ Standard White Laced Red Conish and Standard White Cornish. Hatched tonight. It is still a little early to tell about the True Pearl eye, but I know at least most will have it. I will vent sex and tag them tomorrow when they get transferd to the Brooder.

I am getting both RC RIRs LF and Partridge Wyandottes LF from Duane Urch this year, and LF Partridge Wyandottes from Pauly Poultry. I'd like to find another source of RC RIRs LF from another SQ Heritage Breeder, a dozen or so,

also, if its doable some Narragansett Turkeys from Porter Turkeys.

These should keep me busy, I will have a few to cull for teens to start a pair or a trio of . I am in NC MI. About 2 hours north of Saginaw.

Al, that little fluff ball is...not so little!

LOVE your bator - it's beautiful!

Folks - who is it on this thread who is breeding heritage Javas? I received an inquiry from someone wishing to find some good, older lines. I know I saw someone, but scrolled back about 10 pages and couldn't find them...

ETA: this person really sounded serious about getting some good, old lines and being able to help with bringing them back.
