We have alot of posts here on BYC about how to package eggs to be shipped. Many use egg catons and bubble wrap with great results. Just do a search here, BYC works real well on search. i would do the search with topic only as Shipping. That should get you what you need.

Does Anyone here have Rhode Island Reds & is willing to sell hatching Eggs ???

I have An old line of Bantams reds ( 50 ++++ yrs or older & still being shown & bred to ABA standards)

& am looking to get into an old Quality line of Large fowl Reds. I am looking for (Single Comb) RHODE ISLAND REDS

PM me with pics, prices & details.

Thank you,

If I was in the US I'd be asking if you had 2 of his brothers or sons you could spare.

I have an incubator on the way! However, since female dorkings are so hard to find, I have them with Black sex links and just got 4 beautiful RIR!

Wonder what will hatch??

You don't have any Dorking girls? Awwwww. I have 3 (though 1 has only 4 toes and probably won't be bred) but my cockerel has only 4 toes and has heavy black striping in his hackles and saddle.

I'm trying to find a nice male but not having a lot of luck. So hard when they are so rare!

I hope you can find some nice Dorking ladies, he's such a nice boy.

Good luck with your new 'bator, hope you hatch lots of chicks.

He looks to have good color, where did you get him? I assume a hatchery and that is (at least seems to be), about the only place to get them

Nice

First big box opened...note smashed corner...........

opened it to find another box

surrounded by shavings

took that box out.....
50801_luannes_packing_005.jpg

opened it to find big bubble wrap.

pulled that away to find a nest of soft quilt batting like sheep's wool......
50801_luannes_packing_007.jpg

inside are nested eggs..each individually wrapped in smaller bubble wrap...

This shipper is in Florida, I am in western Washington State, and every egg was perfect.
She sent me 2 such shipments...so far they are all doing well.
But note the outside of the exterior box was crushed !
Great packing job.

I also want to add, the boxes, all sizes, the tape are all free from USPS online!!!
Order them on line and the boxes/tape will be shipped to you or your Post Office Box, FREE!
All you need to do is log on, register, and order.
Free.
Then use shavings, plastic grocerie bags or newspaper for extra padding.

I had a great time visiting a BYC friend above Chehalis today, who has a trio of bantam RIR that are so beautiful, Robert knows the guy.
I hear he is still selling trios of these gorgeous birds today.
Dallas Meadowes? Remember him ?
And I forgot to bring my camera, so have no pics.
But I can get ahold of some, maybe.
Just wondered if Robert remembers Dallas Meadows ?
