This one won't cause you emotional pain as much.........Mockingjay from the hunger games though? TEARS. ANGER. THROWING THE BOOK ACROSS THE ROOM.
Except don't actually throw books. Because books are precious
*strokes hoard of books*
Yes! Hunger Games I can’t believe I forgot that one! Another one of my favorite series
:love :bow
Haven't read it, I heard that it was pretty gory.
Maybe I'll read it one day.

I need to stop.
I already have so many books I need to read:
Emily Starr Series.
20,000 Leagues under the sea.
Left Behind.
I'm sure there are more on my shelf. I'm never gonna get through my pile XD
I haven't heard of any of those

WAIT, I THINK I've heard of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Like, I've heard the name. Once.

I hear you, @tripletfeb. I read a couple books a week until I had my son. Now, I'm lucky I can finish one in a few months!

My favorite books are the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. It starts with The Golden Compass, which was made into a movie I never saw. I also spent a lot of time reading Remembrance of Things Past, by Marcel Proust. It was long, but worth it. I'd love to be able to re-read it one day.

I just finished My Name is Red, by Orhan Pamuk. It was ok, but nothing special.

I teach high school, so I also read a lot of YA books!

Amazingly written? Yes. Page turner? Yes. Will make you cry when *character that diDN"T NEED TO DIE* dies? Yes.
I hate it when authors add characters in just to kill them off.
As an author myself, I always ask: Is this character dying for a reason? And what is that reason?
If the answer is: Just because I want to cause my readers emotional pain *insert evil laugh*.
Then I need to rethink what the character is doing in the book, and if the character is even necessary to the plot.
And if an author is going to kill a character, it needs to be well done. There's almost nothing worse than a character dying in a less-than-par way.
It needs to leave you an emotional wreck.

20,000 leagues under the sea is by Jules Verne, and he's written a lot of classics. Journey to the Center of the Earth is one of his well-known ones.

Oooh! Other classics: The Count of Monte Cristo.
Murder, romance, revenge all wrapped up into one book. It's amazing.

The Golden Compass is great!!!! The Amber Spyglass and The Subtle Knife were really confusing for me, though.
