This thread is for you to show off your Border Collies!
Ruger is my Red Merle Border Collie, he is 2 years old!

Wow! I have never seen a Red Merle Border Collie before! I used to have a Border Collie mix, but she died last year. Her name was Banjo, and she was about 15 when she died.
I am sorry for your loss.

Your Ruger is absolutely STUNNING! I looove Merles!!

I got my first border collie 3 years ago and i absolutely fell head over heels in love with the breed! They're so intelligent and beautiful! Just a complete pleasure to be with, work with, and to train.

My sweet BCs:

Barkley, my first BC, soon after we got him as a 7 week old puppy.

Barkley and Bullitt
I don't have many pictures of Bullitt because we had to give him away when he was 5 or 6 months old. He got into a LOT of trouble despite all of our attempts to train him to behave better. He would go miles away from home and steal things from people's garages. His new family loves him just as much (probably even more) than we did and he's beyond happy.

We also recently had to give Barkley away because he liked playing with the chickens just a little too much. He offed two entire flocks and then some so after much effort to train him not to kill the chicken, we re-homed him to another family and he's a much better fit for their family (seeing as they have no free range chickens).

Here's our newest addition to our family, Rusty. 4 months old and sweet as can be. Just an amazing dog already. We can tell he's here to stay, great with the birds, other dogs, and people.

We're thinking of getting another BC too, so I may have to update soon!

Sorry I'm late replying, I have been so busy!
Aww thank you! You pups are stunning I love reds and merles! Do you use yours for anything special? Ruger is my first I picked him from 8 pups, 7 red merles, 1 red tri. He is such a blessing! He love kids and other dogs. He is protective of me! Hes not much for cats but we are working on it.. He doesn't mess with my chickens much, thankfully! Its unbelievable how smart they are! Love this breed!

Ours have just been pets; I'd looove to hone Rusty's herding instincts and get hi working with some goats.
He was the last pup of his litter. The lady we got him from was going to keep him, but then she decided to breed her other BC and she gave him up to keep one of the other pups. Rusty is the WORST with our cats! Fixates on them and chases them every chance he gets, so we're definitely working on that right now. He's terrified of our chickens to the point of aggression with them, but that's really only on bad days. His dad was incredibly gentle with chickens, so we have high hopes for Rusty.
They really are brilliant! So easy to train! Sometimes they are too smart though.. LOL!

Ruger is just like that. If he sees one he wants it! He does come when called so that helps! Rugers mom was a working dog but they gave her to her current owners because she was chewing on a hose. I am not sure on the dad. Ruger chewed everything as a puppy, clay, chapstick, wood, etc, etc! He is so much better now! It took a a few weeks to train him as a track dog, the breed is absolutely intelligent!
