Do you like Boxers!? Do you own one!?

Unfortunately, my experience did not go well with 2 half brothers in the house. We got our first Boxer boy from a breeder in 2020. Two years later we had an opportunity to take in his half brother which was about 1 year younger. The adopted boy went from quiet and playful with our 2 year old Boxer boy and once comfortable in our home, he became very aggressive towards our boy to the point he attacking our sweet boy. We ended up taking him back to the breeder. I am hoping this was just a one of situation because I see so many social media posts of people with 2+ boxers in the same household of mixed sexes. This is our third Boxer. We had 2 females before and are totally in love with their affectionate and silly personalities!
We also had a bad experience introducing a new, younger female Boxer to our older male Boxer. They were fine for a couple weeks but then the newcomer attacked our older Boxer several times seemingly out of nowhere. It left him with a large hematoma on his ear and he had to get staples for a deep wound on his shoulder. We had to rehoming her.

Our now 4 year old European Boxer boy Diezl. 95 pounds of loving and cray-cray! :love
He reminds me of our dexter.
Dexter died a few years ago, on his 11th birthday. He was big "talker". If we said no, or told him to get off the furniture, he would argue with us. He loved to swim also.

I'm sorry that happened. I feel very lucky to be able to keep a pack. We've only had the one boxer who was aggressive with other dogs.

Wow, those are some big Boxers. Everything I've read says they shouldn't be over 70 pounds. Baxter did get over 70 pounds but that's when he was old and fat. 😄 I think his ideal weight was about 65.
I know! I always thought they were medium sized dogs but Sadie was around 85lbs all muscle. Dexter was 98, and pretty solid. Ruby hovered around the 80 mark after she got old but her best weight was around 70. Brewster is never going to be thin again. Once we got him neutered he started gaining and went from 68ish to 92. We try to keep him in the 80s. He is 8 years old and not the most active boxer we've had. He will walk for exercise but I have to do a lot of encouraging after the first lap.
