Brabanters and Spitzhaubens--The Differences PIC HEAVY!

Pics
Some of my older hens had really full crests....yet, breeding them with a rooster with a small crest produced offspring with much smaller crests. Don't throw out imperfect sprcimens.....we have very little gentic material to work with. At worst, try one breeding with a good specimen and see what your results are.

I posted in the gender section, but you guys are the experts. I got two brabanters Saturday. I was told they were both pullets and about 5 weeks, but they hatched in May so they are at least 8 weeks. One's crest is so much bigger than the other, I am wondering if it is a cockeral or if this is normal variation. They came from IDeal. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Fifi (She is a sweetie! Jumps on me and lays her head down and goes to sleep! Loving this one!)

The boys start crowing rather early. It's a hoot, cause then the rest of them will all spazz , fearful of "that noise"

Cool, Thank you. Now we have a problem. We only want to keep 1, now how do we decide!

We had room for 3 chickens. We wanted to keep one of our white ones. Then one of these, then one of the Salmon Faverolles. But we are also wanting one of the BO, Lol, we are in trouble.
