Any pictures?? Sounds interesting...

I just built one over the weekend and have a few pics below, it works great and there's no waste at all:

Yes, they're a heritage breed, however by definition, hatchery based Brahmas are not heritage bred.

Hatchery quality ones are easily distinguished by their high, long set tails, too much pencilling, small size, short legs, lack of "brow" over the eyes, and a couple other faults that show up. The most common are bad coloration, small size, and really tall and/or upright tail in the males.

To answer the dark Brahma question - The males will look just like the females at first, but slowly through time will develop solid white and black feathers, while the females will keep their pencilled look.

Well CRAP...lol thank you that helps out a lot though...

I would like to encourage all that are interested in Brahmas to join the American Brahma Club. A current breeders directory comes with a membership, plus four issues of our quarterly newsletter "The Scanner". A new Brahma club "Handbook" is avaliable at a discounted rate to club members. It is packed full of all kinds of Brahma knowledge from current and past top breeders. Information is avaliable on our website. Thanks!

That is way cool, I used to make something like this for water for my cockatiels. But then I was told it is risky to use non-food grade PVC. Is this true???

Well I am still upset over my dear brahma rooster, the coop sure seems lonely without him.

But in good news I moved a new rooster in today, not exactly what I wanted but he'll have to do. Blue Columbian here we come.

I took some pictures of him but I can't decide if I am going to post them or not. He is a pretty boy but sad looking for a brahma. I'll wait and post pictures of my F2's once we start getting some eggs laid and babies hatched.

He is pretty rough with the ladies so I can tell they won't be near as beautiful in a few days once he rips some feathers out. I meant to get pictures before but I forgot.

They look much better when their tails are up, but when they are cold, or when I put the rooster in the tails went down so I couldn't get good pictures.

I did happen to get this so you can see just how incredible the U in their tails are. (Even if it is down.)
