I like the splash male, he has good size and width. I wish he had a neater, tighter comb, a little loose and a lot of waddle. I wil probably put him over a few of the black laced hens at least.

Probably the cockerel I like the best type wise, is pretty light in the neck and saddle.

Dan good looking male you posted. How did the blue laced buffish birds I sent you work into your line ? I've seen how the silver laced male was utilized.

Look forward to the black laced red eggs.

Thanks to both big medicine and dan powell for the link, I have read it from front to back this afternoon and am still completely lost to be honest. I understand that your projects began with Cornish, Cochin and others to start? A Wyandotte was mentioned somewhere? I have access to several colours of what are real Brahmas so would prefer to work with those ideally. I guess I can breed and see what happens, would either or both of you be amenable to helping me weed out the F1s from my current birds to get daughters back to father, and sons over mothers?

If it's ok with everybody else, I think you could post pictures here, or start another thread. But get good photos, the color names don't translate so well sometimes.

his comb has developed to be really big but i am planning on crossing him back to the light and buff brahma hens to attempt to get the color but more brahma type comb.
any advice or lessons about genetics is appreciated.

i am planning on crossing Lionel with other hens this spring. i want to see what acona, speckled sussex and blue andulsian crosses turn out like.

Gary or Dan, If I remove a female from one male(A), and put her with a different male(B). How soon can I be sure her eggs are fertilized by male B, and male A's genetics are no longer present in her eggs. Is there a cut and dry answer, or does it vary from bird to bird?

Thanks!
Tim
