probably depends alot on the breed because i have a game hen that raised her own and was a great mom but I am not sure she would take on chicks that aren't hers. but my cochin bantams probably would. we have 2 hatched today by our Brahma, but the only Brahma egg she is sitting on hasn't hatched yet so still waiting

He is sorta cream color with some black. Yes he is hatchery stock. No I don't know what the culombian pattern is. Can you describe it?

Sjisty, those colors are beautiful, only having light and buff I did not know of these other colors besides dark. Now I want all color Brahmas..

This is the columbian pattern. In brahmas it is light. In other words light brahmas are of the columbian pattern. Actually Buff Brahmas are "Buff Columbian".

what about the dark? or is the light and buff the only Columbian? thanks for the info. just getting into Brahmas in the last year and love the breed so much.

I suppose "color" would be a more accurate description than "pattern". All of these colors are described in the ABA "Bantam Standard" and the APA "Standard of Perfection".
