yes that was what i was thinking , i was playing/ using the chicken calculator and i belive that it wil take me at 2-3 gens to aet in the colour and then work with the brahma. Do you think if i crossed them the ones with lavender back to light's would i lose the lavvender or would i have to cross there mating's back to gether to get te lavnder back in to the brids

If you crossed the lavenders ( Columbian) with the Lights, the resulting chicks would visually be Lights but they would be split for lav. So if you crossed those back together, you would again get more lavenders, Whenever you have split lavenders, you must cross them among themselves or back to lavenders or you will lose the lav gene, but in your case, you would be trying to improve type so you would need cross them among themselves to get lavenders and then keep starting over again buy crossing with the lights to improve type.

was looking at the shots of your pullet while discussing this with RAREROO. Hard to be sure, but I suspect she may be splash version of blue buff columbian. If she is, you could use a regular buff Brahma male to produce 100% blue buff chicks. Meaning all parts that are black on a buff Brahma(neck, tale, wings) would be blue. Not sure why her base color is so light, which would probably be darker in the resulting chicks. If I'm wrong, might still be interesting.

my hen is light i suppose ( i feel they should call it white....) i call her Pidgin because she looked like one.

I am thinking of incubating the eggs in the spring... i am curious what kind of a cross this would produce?

Here is Pidgin. this was taken a few months ago... she has since filled out pretty well.

I was thinking of pairing her with my buff when they are old enough, since that is the closest color to her. Thanks!

Here are a couple of pictures of my Brahma. I am hoping it is a pullet. He/she is around 12 weeks old. Her name is Matilda (for now at least)
I will try and get some tail feather pictures today! She/ he is very bossy! She runs after all the chickens and chases them! I love to watch her hop around. Also she always acts like she is in a hurry to get every where! I love her/him! I would love to have more of this breed!

Mountain Sunshine, to me, that looks like a Lt. Brahma cockerel. Had one once, a sexing mistake from Ideal Poultry, which was Miranda's brother. The color goes down his back more than on the pullets. Maybe name him "Matthias"?

Finally caught a pic of Miranda, my only Lt. Brahma. She is 3 yrs old and a very large lady.
