Well, I could try to get pictures of Miranda and her brother for comparison. I know I have them somewhere. The cockerel's hackle color sort of traveled right down his back and the comb was really red early on, though not much larger than Miranda's was at the time. I noticed the color difference when they were about 4 weeks old.

Okay, here he is at about 9 weeks old, with Miranda in the background.

This is my hen, Miranda, at 14 weeks old. See how her hackle color is confined to her hackles? And no comb to speak of.

Thanks SpeckledHen!

We have one which is a Wellsummer. Will they be able to stay together? So, far so good with getting along! So, now it looks like we have 2 roos and 3 hens!

Sure, they can stay together. Really, you should have one rooster for each 8-12 hens. And a Brahma rooster is a very large boy, so he may smush a really small hen later on as he matures and fills out.

I've only had 2 light brahmas - one ended up being a cockerel - started crowing at 11 weeks and had to be rehomed - the next one I bought turned out to be a pullet. Yours looks like a roo to me too.

This is my cockerel at 11 weeks of age:

This is my pullet at 10 1/2 weeks - she still doesn't have any wattles:

The hens are a wellsummer, maran, & a polish! The other roo is the wellsummer. I will keep both roos together and see how it goes. Your Bramahs are pretty!

What part of North, GA are you in? We are in Cleveland!

Very beautiful! Thanks for sharing those pictures. How old are yours? I have come to grips now that our Matilda is not a Matilda

It's ok though...we are going to get some pullets this spring (hopefully a couple of brahmas, I love them)!
