All of ours have been roosters with the exception of the 2 EExB hens we have. All have been very sweet. The 2 crosses are bottom of the coop. Even our little Silkie girl bosses them around. Ours aren't the greatest layers, but only have RIRs and BRs to compare. They've never gone broody. I would happily get more.

This is Kiev; she's about six weeks old. She's been our fastest-growing, but slowest-feathering....if that makes any sense.

She's a very laid-back bird and is easy to handle and cuddle with.
I can't wait to see what she's going to look like when she fills out a bit more.
(I apologize for the picture quality)

Thank you! We are quite proud of her. So far, she's the loudest, biggest, and the one most likely to be the first to do something. Figure she's going to be the one we have to keep an eye on.

Have a newbie question about brahma chicks for all of you. Does the color of the down before they get feathers have anything to do with their mature coloring? I bought 4 dark brahma chicks from the feed store and 2 of them have almost black down on their heads, while the other 2 have light brown and tan on their heads. They are about 3 weeks old now and seem to be all feathering the same way on their wings, but no feathers on their heads yet. They were also sexed as female.

I have no clue.. I am not new to chickens but new to brahma and bantams in general.
I have my eye on a set of wonderful dark brahma bantams and ran across this thread.
I got to page 4 and Im sold...
Do any of you show your birds? If so do you dub? My daughters want to show but I will not
dub... What are your thoughts if you do show?

Hi all, I'm looking to get some LF Brahmas , either light of buff.
My questions is this.. Do you find personality differences between the 3 color varieties? I had some dark banties that were sweet but skidish & the buffs were fine. So I just wondered if the bigger birds were like that or not. What type of chickenality do they have? Thanks
