I ordered 5, and got 6. Two were DOA, and a friend of mine asked for two. She was covering my kids for me while I went to my grandfather's funeral and I have 12 BLB eggs in the bator ATM.

Quote: Thanks, I will have to check into the ABC. Also, my kids are just coming into that age where we are thinking about showing chickens. I'm choosing about 5 breeds to focus on and Brahmas are one of them. It will take a lot os work and some seriously delayed gratification with the brahmas but excited nonetheless. what we work on will likely be decided but what the kids fall in love with in regard to personality and look. anyhow, thanks for the advice and i'll check out the club!
Jeff
so far the remaining six seem to be good and out of any trouble. still one that for some reason has to cleaned off (pasty butt) every few days. other than that the others are growing quite well! We've fed our Light Brahma chicks medicated chick starter, 18% protein. We haven't had any problems with pasting and no losses.
So sorry to hear about your experience! Hope those that are left grow into happy, healthy birds!
My eggs were candles and it looks like they are off to a good start. I have Buff, Buff Laced, Golden Laced, Silver Laced and Blue Laced Red. Hoping for some of each to hatch.
