cute pics. i dont know anything about brahmas yet so cant critique. what is the other breed in there? with the crest...

It to me like a Polish chick. They're known for their big, poofy crests.

Would love to see some pictures of young LF Dark Brahmas of good quality, especialy cockerals 3 to 5 months or there abouts... I have some im raising and would like to compare and/or check out coloring, etc.... Post pics please

This is LooLoo, my light Brahma. It was love at first sight, even though I didn't know what breed she was. She was the cutest little fuzzy footed fluff ball I'd ever seen before. She's quite docile and let's youngest son {5} pick her up and carry her around.

She was hatched on 3/17/12 at McMurry Hatchery. This picture was taken on Sunday.

First day of fair is tomorrow

.On top of that I am the only one there with brahmas

. I'll be the only one in my class. I'm also bringing two nigerian dwarf goats and a market chicken project.

I got my Light Brahmas from McMurray too. Mine were hatched just a little before yours. Mine are also pretty friendly and the rooster is good so far too. He is so much better than my Blue Andalusian I had. Mine hens have a lot of black specks throughout the white and I am curious to see if that will change after they experience a molt. What did you get for your free mystery chick?

Summer. I'm not sure what our mystery chick was. We ordered a Rainbow Assortment from them. My cousin and I went in together. She ordered a bunch of little banties too. There were so many in the brooder,when we split the order we just went through going, "I want that one" until we were about even. I ended up with 15 hens. Maybe Loo was the wild card. Did you only order the Brahma's? Are yours laying yet? I've got one {a Minorca as far as we can tell} laying. One of my RIR's is getting ready too.

So far I have won reserve grand champion on my meat pen and first and second place on my brahmas. I also got first place in the fancy poultry showman ship ans second on the market showmanship.
