This is a three month old Cockerel from this springs hatch. He has inherited the good tail I was after from a spence/williams cockbird.

Well she got back to me-- she doesn't own any bantam Brahmas, and said that my LBs hatched out of smallish eggs, and will probably just take a few more weeks to catch up. I guess we'll see!

I guess egg size could make a difference. My buffs eggs are smaller than my light eggs. The buffs are smaller at hatch, they do catch up pretty quickly though. Keep us posted.

Thanks Don. The buffs seem to feather in quicker, but molt baby feathers a few times before they arrive at their adult color. It takes me longer to distinguish sex in the buffs as a matter of fact. In the lights the females feather in quickly. The males are slower, but the saddles come in colored from the start. I took some pictures of some buff pullets this a.m. I'll get one or two posted for your take on them. Thanks again! Tim

These 3 pullets are out of 2 hens I got from Greg and a John Neff egg male I hatched last year. They are around 3 months also and have a little filling in to do.

These two are out of the pullets I hatched last year from neff eggs, and a cock bird I got from Greg. I don't know if you remember The pullets from last year. You were very complimentary of them, so I took them to the West Texas fair and got best FL with one of them. The other got reserve FL at another show.
