Looking for someone who breeds brahmas in Ottawa, Ontario (or anywhere in Canada) and would be willing to send me 2-3 pullets (5 months old+) in the mail?

Hi Tim, I believe in using a female with nice shape comb and we must also use a good comb male if we want good combs on the offspring. Not really a "sprig" Don. I do , however, battle badly formed/oversized combs on my lights. It comes from the females I'm told. It is just more obvious on the males. I have paid more attention to using females with smaller/better formed combs in this years breeding pens. We will see how it works out. Possibly a deep shade component as well? I keep my males in pretty deep shade to prevent brassines. I have been told by some( Neil Grassbaugh among them) that deep shade can cause excess comb growth. I will try and adjust that as well when it comes to conditioning time.
Tim
