the one that have at lowes just makes noises and they paid a lot more than 30 for it. I thought it was a dumb idea and wouldnt work and I was right lol! I thought that is what you were talking about. I could try the hose. to bad i couldnt buy a pair of wings for my dog. She hates birds.

Im turning this call in its from 408 i know no one in califirnia and they pacifically ask me about My rooster wtheck ,.
its eaither someone from here being mean or who knows

Your friend Bob may have good birds BM but he is not the only show Breeder of Dark Brahmas worth anything here in the NW in fact i know people here in eugene that are not happy with the birds they got from him

maybe they bought his culls for 4h

Just to clarify I don't know if Bob a friend, but he's certainly a breeder and competitor that I have a lot of respect for and have seen perform well. He is new to Brahmas though (don't know this Al guy, I know at least one of Bob's breeders came from Bill Pongo, not sure on rest, lines don't mean a darn thing, the birds do).

Just wanted to clear that up because I do not play favorites when it comes to recommending people for birds. I've recommended people I've hated and steered people clear from some of my best friends. I don't care who someone is, or what they are like personally, if they have good birds and know how to make even better birds, that's what I care about. You're also correct that I had not seen your bird, there may be lots of good birds out there but if they're not shown, who knows?

I wish there was a ton of great Brahmas being shown up here, even thinking of trying to find some myself just to promote them, they're probably my second favorite breed overall (which is why I hang out here, and you guys are my Asiatic brothers and sisters) and I love all three colors. The fact of the matter is I just haven't seen any worth a dang being shown. So if you have them or get some from someone you think has good ones start showing! I hope you beat the tar outta everyone with them (in the breed at least).

Edit: and again to clarify, I know there's lots of good brahmas being shown, my comment was exclusive to the PNW.

Could be. I don't know any Bob that only has brahmas. This Robert "Bob" Anderson that I'm talking about is in Tualitin, OR, is a master breeder of Cochins, also has the Brahmas, Brown Leghorn bantams and Cornish bantams. He's also on Facebook under Blue Hour Poultry.

Glad you figured out who called you. The poultry community can be really great sometimes. Hope vet tests end up the best they can.

Quote: Definatly not the same guy this guy i talked to was about 45 had only dark Brahmas and lived in portland he said but just moved vancover he said worked at the Post Office in Vancover .
I think when allen first told me there was a guy up here i started looking on CL and got ahold of the Robert Andersen like ann dree sin really did not impress me . Ill try and get ahold of your friend Mark talks to a guy on Facebook who is in that area he really likes but we got our birds from John D and then Meryl from Ohio and then eggs and i am not supposed to tell you where eggs came from because he normally did not ship eggs but i had the Leahy and was so wanting to test it LOL Ill just say Great guy he snuck in some banties and told me to figure what one
So i kept some of those and they are in my adult pen the chicks i am loosing from Ohio friend who got his birds from Ulrich ? and sent me chicks i do have a lot of $$ in this but its not the money they died and has been a joy in my life

I hope you get things sorted out and get to the shows sometime in the not too distant future! We need more Asiatics! Or at least more non-Cochin Asiatics! Last two shows I attended it was all those bloated fluffy things, no Brahmas and only one Langshan (mine weren't ready this spring, hoping to have a few in fall shows)

Edit: I know what you mean about the $ but how much joy these birds bring. I don't want to think about the bill I have accumulated coming back to the hobby this year, and I'm barely getting started again! It's all worth it though.
