I can't believe I just found this thread!!! We've had lots of brahmas but recently decided to breed them and try to get some new colors.

this is Ford, dark brahma and the only boy currently in the laying hen pen

Fancy, a lf buff brahma

Goldie, a golden laced brahma

a better shot of Goldie

And Ford again!

Brahmas are the most friendly birds I've ever had.....One question: If I put a dark brahma roo on a swedish flower hen will it still have feathered feet and the brahma personality? The only cross I've done was a Light brahma roo over RIR hen and the only one that hatched came out red with no feet feathers.....Thanks! and Nice to meet everyone!
I hatched out a few partridge brahma x BBS ameraucana and they all came out huge with feather feat and mellow temperaments ...lol plus beards

HI ALL...Wanted to show my little Palomino bantam Brahma chicks 7 weeks old.
Anyone know are they colored by sex? (Sexlinked is that the word? )
I cant find any info about them except they were created by Dan Powell when on a quest to create a laced buff? i think,Also wondered if the more gold ones will get a brown or dark red patch on their back if they are roos. The photo of the roo shown when i bought the eggs showed a dark saddle which made him very pretty
So far icant tell what they are sexwise by comb redness or size
Any comments or help at all is appreciated.

We've had brahmas for a few months now, they definitely stick out in our mixed flock for friendliness and all around personality. Also any time we have to separate an injured bird, we put a brahma in with it for company since we know they won't pick on them.
Never realized there were so many colors of brahmas, I'd only seen the three common types - awesome!

snapnzap, love that black and red bird you've got a pic of, what is it?

I am planning to order standard Brahma chicks soon, and am so excited! Can someone please tell me if they can fly up to a 30 inch high roost, or will they need a ramp. I'm finishing up the coop now. Thanks!

Standard Brahmas need either a low roost or a ramp. They can fly up easily, but jumping down is hard on the legs with all that weight.
