Thanks Tim. Yes John is a good friend of mine we have been working on the darks together. He is talking about getting a nice trio out of the states for new blood and i'll be bringing in buff think. John and i put together a nice showing of darks at the national show in woodstock last fall around 20 or so darks. The most ive seen at a show around here. Our shows are a lot smaller then down there. I'm really hoping to make it down to some of the bigger shows this year.

Great, glad to hear it. I have corresponded with John over on showbirdbid forums. Darren Smale is also a friend. Do you know him too?

I purchased some chicks, yesterday and planned to get Araucanas, but was just told that I may have a Dark Brahma. If anyone has a picture of one as an adult and a chick, could you post it for me? I don't mind that this one may not be what I thought, I just don't know anything about the Dark Brahma breed. Thanks!

Awesome. Small world. He had buff bantams a few years back, thats how we met. Funny how A Canadian and someone from Texas can have SO much in common. We both love to hunt, we both love baseball...him the BlueJays and me of course the Rangers, and of course exhibition poultry.

Any clue on how I'd make a lavender brahma? I don't want a white bird with a lav. neck ring and tail but rather a bird that looks like light brahma but instead of the white it be lavender with the black neck ring and tail......

Won't happen. The lav gene dilutes Black to a light blue color. Lavender birds are diluted Black birds.
