I wish I had won a buckle like that one, I would have worn it for years!
He has graciously said he would allow me to wear last year's buckle, while he sports this year's buckle.

I love the top-line, tail and head on that bird Clare. I want to try that cross now. It might help improve the fertility of my Buffs too?

Preston, the Sept 8 show is the West Texas Fair in Abilene. The RedRiver Bantam club(my local club) show is October 5th at Decatur.

I was wondering if lavender brahmas are supose to have yellow feet.I saw a picture on rare poultry auction and it looked like they had grey feet.

Very nice bird dak. Looks to be in great condition. The little feller with the big buckle looks rightfully proud, and way better looking than the old guy posing with Tim's deer.
No argument on that. Gosh, I look even OLDER now.

You have the recipe. I like the feather quality and faster feathering of the Buffs, but I think I picked up some head width from the Lights. Word of warning though, I think the outcross is going to lead to some bigger birds than either parental line.

That Buff and the boy look like winners. Better limit the wearing of that belt buckle to 20 minutes a day until the he has skeletal maturity.
I thought it might increase his bone density.

I'll try and use smaller birds. I think I might try it both ways just to add a bit more genetic diversity to both lines. I'll have to do a better job of record keeping though. I have some pretty good buff pullets, but from your pictures....nothing as good as yours. That REALLY looks to be an exceptional bird. She should be a very valuable female breeder as well. Good job.
