OHhhh, these chickens are beautiful..Are they yours? Love the colors of all of them...

Yep, all mine - the main big girl you can see, a golden partridge Brahma in the background, part of a silver laced Wyandotte at one edge, and part of a black-tailed buff Marans at the other. Hatched 'em all from shipped eggs (15/16 hatched, the 16th egg was infertile!)

They're lovely girls. Nice to sit with. Except when the cheeky Marans nip at my heels (and hands, and whatever I'm reading) begging for their fermented seeds.

Wow, that is amazing for shipped eggs! I never get that good of a hatch rate with shipped eggs. Only ever get that with my own eggs if i'm lucky lol.

I know, right!? They were shipped only by truck not plane, and Express (so they got here the next day), and I picked them up from the post office immediately. Still an astonishing hatch, though. I only used a basic hand-turning incubator (Hexabator style). Must have come from healthy stock!

Ya, a lot of eggs I order are from states away (california, texas, virgina, arkansas, and so on). I have the cheapest incubator they had at rural king. It was 42.99. It is still air and I have to turn eggs by hand. But I enjoy it all and for a cheap bator works pretty good, plus it can hold up to 4 dozen LF eggs.

OMG, I haven't tried to hatch anything...LOL Lucky for you that you had that opportunity. Maybe some day I can try it...

Does anyone have a good picture of a Netherlands Isabel hen? I have a lemony Brahma hen with lavender (pencilling? partridge?) markings, got her here in Western Australia.

(Not posting photo looking for critique - she's a backyard layer for me, nothing more.)

Love this hen. Looks like a bit of barring in the neck feathers. I'd sure like her in my back yard.

I agree.

Perhaps that's what it is! I gave her a bath yesterday. Her feathers look even better now. She always seems to want to get inside the house. I think her previous owners had her as a house chicken.
I don't know, but she is so pretty! I love those feathers..
