Still thinking pullet. How do his/her feathers compare to the others?
My new coop is almost ready. I'm thinking about doing the same thing that you did....put the chooks in first and then add the big girls to them. Maybe then there will be less pecking order shuffling going on since everyone will be in a new place, or maybe it will make things worse. Let me know. My coop should be done this weekend.
Something that has come up here recently at my place. My second coop is a 8' by 10' shed I bought used, and then partitioned into two breeding pens. This shed came from a hunt club and had served as dog house, more or less. It came with 4 dog doors (two per side) cut into the sides, which worked out ok, as I built a porch roof, ramp, and door, for the front hole on each side. The back holes I used as access to external nest boxes I put on the rear of each side, and has worked out well.I am building a coop and have a question about door size. Do they fit thru the standard 12 inch door or do they need a larger one like 14 inch?
I use a 10 1/2 inch by 13 inch for my automatic door. The only ones that really have to duck are the roosters.I am building a coop and have a question about door size. Do they fit thru the standard 12 inch door or do they need a larger one like 14 inch?

Probably. Pictures would help us to tell.I bought what I thought were 2 pullets a few months ago. Imagine my surprise when one started crowing last week. It's kinda funny that Ladybird is a roo. My question is this... Fuzzyfeet hadn't started started crowing and "its" comb and waddles are still pink where as Ladybird's are red. Do I have one of each? Fingers crossed.
