I just got my first brahma hen 2 days ago. She's so beautiful and nice, I've already fallen in love with her. I don't know how old she is but she's really big and I'm guessing full grown. So it's been 2 days and we've been waiting for her to lay an egg and so far...nothing. How often do brahmas lay?

Here are some pictures of my bantam buff brahmas at 4.5 weeks of age:

Those are great pics! How is the bantam brahmas disposition as compared to the standards? I know the myth is that the bantams are hotter blooded due to their size, but how much of that is true with this breed? My brahmas are very loving and out going, so I find it hard to believe that the bantams would be too bad.

I think banty roos are the only mean banties, at least as a general fact. Woodstock is a growly thing but never bites. (I think she's forever broody, no matter how long it takes to break her.) She's friendly and when not setting, will walk up to me and demand treats.

She has taken to pecking me when she wants something. Really wierd. When I feel a peck on my leg, I know it's her. I don't have any standard Brahmas but I can only imagine that they are pretty much the same. She's very submissive. I love her so much.

Hey guys! Its been awhile since I put up pics of my proud brahma couple. After once being awash with roosters I have trimmed the flock down to one hen( mama brahma ) and one roo( the only roo, obama brahma ) Thought you guys would enjoy these:

Great pics! lol, that little one is definitely not buff. It is cool though because it shows the similar coloring of the light and buff brahmas
