I have LF Light Brahmas 1 Roo & 4 hens.
My Roo is doing his job, alot of bare backed hens. As I have a mixed LF Flock, Light Brahmas, Barred Rocks, Black Sex Link, New Hampshire Red, for now I will not be selling hatching eggs.
The weather here is below zero (-27F right now). I don't think shipped eggs would survive the cold. I will be setting some in the incubator on Jan 4th, to test fertility and start adding to my flock. Then I should have new laying stock by June-July from my hatched chicks.
I will probably pick up a few more (10+) LF LB pullets in April from a breeder near here; after quarantine (6+ weeks) then all the Light Brahmas will be moved to a new coop/run, for breeding purposes.
I will be building new coops/runs for different breeding programs I wish to try.
any thoughts or suggestions?
