I have a question for all of you folks that know a whole lot more than I do about Brahmas or chickens in general...I have 3 pullets and 1 cockerel LF Light Brahamas...I love these chickens...The girls are getting friendlier and friendlier...My cockerel has been hard on my pullets...My hubby and I think we should add some more pullets to our small flock to help give the 3 girls a break from this young stud...What is the best hen to rooster ratio?...I would love to find someone with eggs or order some more pullets in the buff and dark...These beautiful birds have us love struck!...lol....

Hi, my name is Illia - And I'm a Brahmaholic. I only have three hatchery-girls, but I love them! . . . And am so tempted to want more. Especially a dark Brahma rooster. Blogspot doesn't seem to like images being posted elsewhere, so here's just a link to all three of the girls.

My two dark brahma pullets - they're growing up so fast!

They are sisters - same parents, different incubation.

A good ratio would be about ten hens to one roo. My dark brahma roo has 13 girls and manages to keep 12 of them fertilized. One girl won't let him near her.
