Light Brahma chicks range from almost all white to smokey grey with black. Completely black is not normal. That may explain the excess black as a 4 month old.
That was 1 of the reasons I thought she was a black Cochin chick when I got her. Then all the white feathers came in, then I was like what the heck I got here
I was surprised to see it already has mottling. Even though.... Well genetics say it shouldn't. It might loose them when it molts. Either way. I know they are hiding in there.
