That is so cool Red Roo, It's so important for them to remember the good times in their lives, but some don't even like to see the dogs, can you imagine how they will feel about a chicken, it's just a few though, most love the dogs.

Yeah, well, I don't give them much of a choice! If I want to give them hugs and kisses, they are going to get them whether they like them of not!

If I have to treat a large bird, I usually put the legs between my thighs and clamp them in, then use my elbow and my side to pin the wings down. Managed to tube feed a pretty cranky Jersey Giant that way. Go to have their belly resting on your thighs, though, or they have too much leverage.

I have a couple of very tame birds, which is great. I kinda enjoy the cranky, haughty attitude I get with my others. It's pretty funny to watch them lower their standards to eat from my hand when I have something particularly scrumptious. And the mortification on their faces when I kiss them!

Have to get my jollies where I can.

Love it! I'm the same way, lol! The flighty ones (like the Medeteranian breeds) are forced into the loves once in while too, that is after about a half hour of trying to corner one!

My trick doesn't seem to work as well on these breeds.

I still can't seem to shake the love I have for the lovey birds too though (my Brahmas).

Dose anyone want my roo he is awesome but I have to process some, I have 11 ,7 just starting to want the hens it's nuts around here 11 Roos 13 hens no way !!!! 7 are from my last hatch and they are going to th processor they are about 18 weeks. But my light brama he is about 12 months, and very good with kids , very docile . He has'nt had his first molt yet.

I have game chickens and they are flighty, I usually have to wait till they go to roost to do much with them, most of my Brahmas I can just scoop up. I just love their gentleness. But they don't let the other hens push them around though. if you could give us an idea where you are spitman it might help.

Hi ya'll,

I have a small flock of RIR's and went to get a few more the other day - all they had left were Brahma's so I got some. Came home and did some research on them and loved what I read so ran back and got more.

I'm interested in info on what to expect - i.e.: differences between them and RIR's that I might encounter.. thanks.
