Can someone post a picture of a bird with feathered legs as they should be versus the vulture hocked bird so some of us know what to look for?

It's a little hard to see the pic of the VH bird, but the feathers grow distinctively backwards? And thanks for the pic.

Yes..it's very obvious as chicks...right around 3-4 weeks old..they start to really stick out and grow fast...you can spot them a mile away...it's when they grow totally out it can be trickier..but still noticeable enough for breeders to cull them out so as not to be used."

I see what you guys are talking about re: using someone elses name to sell. People also use it sometimes stating that their bird/ dog/ horse comes from a champion bloodline. For people who are unaware, if the sellers animal has no points( awards) it means nothing. I usually ask someone if they are aware of that if they tell me when we are the buyer.

Also it can be a problem when the "seller" takes credit for the creation of the color, for example silver lacing. I was brought up in an academic/scientific environment and that is an extreme no-no in academia. I can only think is is also a problem in breed and color development.

I have corresponded with a seller on ebay and got them to remove a picture that was stolen and used from a person on BYC. You can report them to ebay and correspond with them and get other people to contact them, too. If you are persistent enough, you can get them to remove undesirable advertising. Next time you see something like that on ebay, let us know.
