Very discouraging last couple of days. Out of 36 shipped Brahma eggs, only two hatched. About half the eggs candles after one week were scrambled from shipment. Others only formed half way.

Vulture hocks - check the feathers coming off the "elbows." Very undesired.

Regardless of those vulture hocks, the coloring is pretty on that one. I was wondering that same thing about mine, but I think it is more fluff and not vulture hocks. Mine are quite immature yet.

I came home from work tonight and my guy said he had a surprise for me in the spare bedroom.
He got me two Dark Brahma chicks! They are adorable =)
Now to do some reading....

If they are both Dark Brahmas, why do they have different markings on their heads and faces?
One is clearly lighter than the other as well?

These look like mixes to me but I know next to nothing. They just look exactly like my EEs and Legbar pullets but with feathered feet. I hope I am wrong.... and that your guy inspires my guy somehow.

Really? They are Dark Brahmas. Down color/markings tend to vary with the Darks.
