91=J+S
S=2Jo
S-(J-Jo)=So
So=J

S-J+Jo=J
Jo=2J-S


S=2(2J-S)
S=4J-2S
3S=4J
S=4/3J

91=J+4/3J

91=7/3J
J=39

91-39=S

S=52

S=smith's current age
J= Jones current age
Jo= Jones old age
So= Smiths old age

Thanks to every one who gave it the old college try and congrats to those that got it. The wording is what was throwing us off. But I must say it was fun getting to the answer. This teacher gave them a challenge without any pressure to get the correct answer. He wanted to see how they reached their answer. He made it fun and the kids enjoyed the challenge! Kudos to the teacher.
