Took this pic earlier of my light blue Breda rooster he finally stood still long enough for me to take a pic of him lol

Out of my bbs variety my blues and black are bigger than my splash to me the splash was harder to raise than my black and blues and mine all have heavy foot feathering because they were from greenfire farms first import of Breda fowl which have better leg feathering than the second batch they imported and the breeder I got mine from when they where chicks only kept the best ones that had the most leg feathering I hope to start on my chocolate colored Breda project next year I might get some mottled this year
A Chocolate Breda -- there's one to drool over. How do you plan to get the chocolate color? I can't think of any breed of chocolate that has similar body type to the Breda to do a successful cross-breeding without spending generations to get rid of the unwanted characteristics of a cross-breeding. There is no other chicken breed I know of without a comb so that would be one unwanted characteristic in crossed offspring. Inquiring minds would like to know

Thank you for keeping the breeding going!
That is correct, she sold her Breda.
bad thing is not many places have mottled or cuckoo any more I need to get some from somewhere this year before u can't find them anywhere who has the best mottled now
I can understand why the Cuckoo were not popular because so many consider Cuckoo a boring variety and the breeders probably weren't getting enough orders for them. My breeder @RFR of CA was closing out her Cuckoo to concentrate on mottled and I got one of her last closeout Cuckoo pullets and am so thankful. The Cuckoo is taller, has longer impressive vulture hocks, and lays a 2.25-oz egg (weighed it today). The Cuckoo started laying last Saturday, missed Sunday, and has layed a pink egg every day since. I make sure she has plenty of feed to replace the body nutrients those eggs are taking out of her!
I have ordered 3 mottled and 3 black from Dutch Connection. I understand she has kept a very small amount of Bredas, so maybe you can still get some mottleds?
Last I emailed Dutch Connection they only offered Black, Splash, and Cuckoo. Now I understand they no longer have any Mottled roo's and have severely cutback on the few remaining Breda they had. But like I said above, someone has taken a few of Dutch's mottled hens to keep a flock going.
I always wondered tho do u pay her through PayPal or money order or how does that work
I have gone through different USA breeders for all my juvenile pullets and they seem to use PayPal although one of my oldest breeders took a check from me in advance payment for pullets plus shipping.

Breda's are a busy mobile bird, alright! I just can't get enough of those Blue photos! So breathtaking!
