Breed of laying hen-?

I have no clue what her breed is, I assumed she was a Plymouth Rock, however she lays light blue eggs- I have considered she’s mixed but with what? Any suggestions would help, she is currently 22 weeks

Ah. Makes SO much more sense. The EE is NOT a male and is laying the blue eggs. The other bird is not yet at POL and is a partridge rock.

My best friend (she has like 25 chickens) vented them and said he was definitely a rooster but we can revent again, and “he’s” been honking like he’s wanting to crow

My mom said she saw nugget which is the Plymouth laying on the egg, so I’m not sure if she just wanted to sit down-?

Yeah, vent sexing should only be done by professionals. If she is considering "reventing" at this age, she has no idea what she is doing. Not trying to attack her, its just not how it works. At this age, there are so many other safe ways to sex.

Post more pictures of the EE. From what I can see, she has a female-specific pattern and no male specific feathering. The Partridge rock doesn't look mature enough to be laying.

More than likely is just an Easter Egger (which is a mutt and not a true breed anyways). Very pretty! Where did you get her? Might also help explain a bit of her background.

My college Animal Science class bought 2 dozen fertile eggs and I was allowed to keep two, (originally I had 2 hens and a cockerel but one hen passed due to respiratory).

More than likely he is an Easter Egger. There is a thread on here that explains the main differences between a pure Ameracauna vs an Easter Egger. (If I recall correctly, Ameracaunas are typically rare and come in solid colors. Any multicolor or colorful Ameracauna lookalike is likely an Easter Egger.)

I’ll definitely look through it, Thank you so much for the help! Aside from these two I have 75% silkie 25% leghorn chicks that are 2 weeks old currently

Wow! I have never seen a blue egg layer than looks like that. She is gorgeous! Could you get a photo including her feet? Does she have feathered feet? What color is her skin and shanks?
