I am definitely not seeing a molt at winters end. As far as I can tell the stag has not shed a feather since acquired last July.

From what I have heard and experienced is that chickens won’t moult in there first year. Maybe your bull-stag is not old enough.I am definitely not seeing a molt at winters end. As far as I can tell the stag has not shed a feather since acquired last July.
He might start mounting late. If he does not go into moult it not a big problemHe is about a year old now. He only went through 1 feather set as an immature bird. Second set he is still in. My American Games of same age went through 2 immature feather sets and are now in their third. Third on male side is distinguishable from subsequent (cock) feather sets.
Have you picked him up and examined/looked for new pin feathers /blood feathers or bare patches? He is about a year old now. He only went through 1 feather set as an immature bird. Second set he is still in. My American Games of same age went through 2 immature feather sets and are now in their third. Third on male side is distinguishable from subsequent (cock) feather sets.
You could try giving fish oil I have heard it helps in moulting, personally I have never tried only have heard from friendsHe is about a year old now.
