Breeding Plymouth rocks and Silkies?

Hello,
I have a silkie hen who is broody, but sadly because of this, she has stopped laying.
But I really want to start breeding my own chickens instead of buying fertile eggs, So I was wondering,
Could I breed my silkie cockerel, Stanley, with my Plymouth rock hen, Gloria?
Stanely is around 9-10 months old and Gloria is 1 year and 2 months old.
They are both very healthy, and Stanley has already 'tried' to mate with her.

I would wait until the hen is not broody. I would keep my chickens pure and not crossbreed.

Yeah, Just out of curiosity would it even be possible? Would the chicks be 'normal' (strong,healthy?)

yes they would be normal.... but guess what? if you cross your silkie roo over the rock hen you would be creating sex links.... cool
