Breeds that you absolutely HATE

I am not a fan of the Silver Hamburgs. I just sold the 7 hens I had. They seem to disrupt the harmony in my flock. They also get out of their fenced pasture all the time (wings clipped). So for me they get the vote. My hen house is much calmer and quieter now.

This I would LOVE to see! I wonder if you could make a living......."Hi, my name is x and I knit scarves for naked neck chickens" I can just see it!!! Talk about a niche!

I don't hate any breed either. I do like my RIR's. The roos are very gentle and easy to handle. I have several that I can walk up to in a large pen and pick it up right there. I've never been hit by any of these roos. They originated from two breeders flocks, and I guess they have gentle bred into them.

I already posted the few breeds I don't really care for, but I just have to say--haha, I feel like a minority here! I keep my chickens for a dual purpose--pets and ornamental! The eggs are just a bonus. To be honest, while I like the laying breeds, they're not really my "cup of tea" either. I really prefer the little bantams--the littler and prettier the better!

I used to think I wasn't a fan of modern game bantams, but once I saw them in person I changed my mind. I find them surprisingly cute in person! I wouldn't mind having some now, actually.

Cool! I have 6 NNs! I'll PM you my address for the scarves! LOL!

That sounds Fabulous!! Actually, I need their neck measurements first so I know how wide and long to make the little scarves. I use all natural fibers, and try to use organic cottons if at all possible. I think it would be fun, even if just for a couple photos. If you PM me the measurements I will certainly make some for your NNs.

Of course some chickens in every breed are friendly, we are not saying all of them are mean, but in general they do tend to be quite aggresive. Illia is right you will probably get nicer birds from breeders who dedicate their time and money into making the breed better.

I can't say that I hate any chicken or even any bird. They are all fascinating to me, even the vultures lol. My least favorite breed just based on looks (because I haven't owned any) are turkens.
My dh just got some OEGB silver duckwing chicks and I didn't think they would be near as cute as they are. The female is a little sweetie!
I didn't used to care for silkies that much but they are growing on me too ..the chicks are adorable and now my teenage DD (who cares naught for any chickens) decided she wants silkies, so I will prob have to encourage that LOL!
