Bring your "Howdy's" here!

When we were covering severe weather Sunday night, this is a picture I took of our courthouse across the street from my office. It looks so neat and creepy at night.

I wouldn't be surprised what one would find up in that tower! However, as intriguing as it is, I am not going to explore it any time soon! Sometimes it looks like it has shadows up there, but I may just be letting my imagination run away. During the day when people are going in and out it is not near as interesting. Next door we have a jail. They moved out about a year ago and it is a historical landmark. I am thinking with it being so old and empty there will be/are critters moving into it too!

Helloooooooo!! How is everyone?? I have been so slack and neglecting this thread! *UGH* some people!

My leg has been hurting bad! My hip/leg part of my left leg is killing me! I fell off a horse some 20 years ago and had some damage that I never went to the doctor for, and I think it has caught up with me! It hurts to move, sit, walk, anything I do! I thought it was a potassium deficiency, but now I am not so sure. Oh well just gotta keep on hobblin!LOL

Oh my patydrz. I have a very similar story. When I was 12 years, a horse reared and fell over backwards on me. Later that night my dad took me for xrays. All they said was pulled muscles. For years I limped and hobbled, and the pain continued to get worse. Throughout my 20's and 30's I had such a hard time walking, all types of unexplained pain, right side. Long story short, after over 30 years of pain and continuing to get worse, some days I could not walk at all, I was sent for an MRI. Oh my, major hip problem, I needed a specialist. I had a torn labrum. Its a little tiny thing in the socket that helps hold the hip in place. and because it was torn, my hip rag dolled a lot. So bone spur had also grown in there, as well as a lump to try and stabilize the hip, but caused more pain. So I had hip repair surgery. No, I did not have to have anything replaced. I am doing much better now. I still have pain at times, but nothing like I suffered through for so many years. My surgery was 4 1/2 years ago. It was a new surgery, and the dr has learned a lot more now, so its possible there is more stuff he could do to help me get better rotation, but it was a lot of money and a lot of pain, so I just keep going for therapy at this time. My surgery is called
right hip arthroscopy with hip impingement.

The bad thing about it is I never went to the doctor about it! I had a bruise from my waist all the way down to my knee, but in the back!! I passed out a few times from the pain, but i was 18 and not very brite! I never knew I could go to the ER, and I never asked. I had left home when I was 16, so my Mom did not know anything about it. It botherd me for years, and then it stopped when I was around 25. So I figured hey this is great!!!! Well NO it is not great now. After having three pregnancys and gaining weight mixed in with getting older I am falling apart at the ripe old age of 40!! I'll be 41 next month and I sure feel older right now! I can hardly walk and I don't have insurance, the "free" clinis says we make too much money, so I have to wait until unemployment runs out or I gt a job. I eally on't see anyone hiring me right now though, because I look like I need a wheelchair! Hopefully it will start to feel better soon, it was worse the other day and I have not been drinking enough water either. *sigh* some people never learn!!

I am so glad you are feeling better. I bet it was hard all those years in pain and no one could do anything!! I know mine is from abusing my body for many years, and I continue to do so!

weeeeewooooooo looks scary! Like there should be a graveyard on the side! My husband was helping take care of an old graveyard a few years ago and I loved walking around reading all the names and dates!!

Bluemoon tell your new pet bat not to hide! I'm sure your husband would love to meet him!!

I was with my Mom, sister and my daughter the other night at starbucks, and we kept hearing this crazy noise that was moving around. It was a little bat chasing bugs!! Soooo cool!!! Cool because he was HIGH up and not near us!!

It was in the mid 90's when the labrum was discovered and that it could be repaired. And then they figured out how to do it laproscopically, so even though I suffered all those years, drs thinking it was all in my head and just wanting pain meds, I am lucky it wasn't discovered until it was so I could have the modern surgery and still have my hip!
Luckily, I did have insurance at the time, although, the dr I went to was not on my 'list' so I had to pay huge out of pocket. Recently I had another MRI and it is showing torn labrum. I am not sure if I retore it, or it is just the surgical site, I sent a current xray to my surgeon and will get an appointment with him in July. Thing is, I am not insured right now, and my DH is unemployed and I'm off for two months, so it is only the info tht I am after right now.

I really do not want to have more surgery, it hurt so much, and I was off for 4 months because it hurt, my job is physical and I was scared to return. I am now 50. In my 40's, I felt like I was 80.

to you

Paty & Ibpboo--Sorry to hear about your ailments. Pain in the back and legs is no fun at all!

Also Paty--We helped my daughter's boyfriend clean up an old cemetery not far from our house. It had completely overgrown with weeds and trees. The last person was laid to rest in 1992 and right on the edge because it was winter and is at the edge due to not being able to get up in it. It is at the end of a dead end gravel road and has a grassy slope up to it. We put in hours and hours of work and by the time we were done, I felt like I actually knew the people. My daughter and I did research on the names and tried to connect them all together. Unfortunately, all family still living doesn't really care about them anymore, but they feel like family to us. We still go up there and keep it mowed down.

Awwww I'm sorry! I know what you mean about feeling oler! It is all I can do to take care of all my critters. It is so easy for people to say "just get rid of them"! WHATEVER!! I just can't do that, they are my responsibility and if I have to drag bloody stumps behind me I will take care of them! I just wish my husband was a bit more concerned about my well being. I watched the notebook last night and boohooed through the whole thing! I want love like that!!!
