[Coastal Quails]

Hi guys! After my last failure of an incubation, we decided we would go ahead and buy some day old chicks of a fairly local breeder.
But the thing is, they live about 20 minutes away and my dad was concerned about this:

Would the chicks be alright in a 22C car for 30 minutes on the ride home right after coming out of the incubator ( after drying off of course)?

My dad is worried they will be too cold? (I don’t really think they will but i thought i’d ask)

Yes, they should be, as long as you have the brooder set up for them at home. I'd put them in a smallish box, lined with a suitable material to prevent splay leg, and shut it to retain their heat. If you hold that in your lap, they should be fine.
You could always get one of those pocket hand warmer things, wrap it in a couple layers of fabric so they wouldn't get burnt, and put it in the box for them to lean on if they want.

My dad is getting mad at me for being so impatient to get these babies haha! He says we should wait a week after they hatch to go get them... is there that much of a risk of them “freezing” to consider doing that instead?

I wouldn't say there's a risk in half an hour, no. Especially not if you get a hand warmer thing, but it should be fine without.
Oh, yeah, a seat warmer could help. Sit with the quail in a box between your legs so it's against the seat. I'd hang onto the box as you drive, just for security.
Air is a decent insulator when you confine it. A closed box should stay plenty warm inside.
