I hope she has a couple more! Is there only one alive right now? She nested with hay and just hasn’t pulled fur yet? Maybe she will do ok! Crossing my fingers for you.
I have been up most the night and slept out in the garage with Chai! I fell asleep probably around 2:00... and woke up at 5:00 to find FOUR more kits! And just as I went to get the heat lamp, these guys are having troubles staying warm, she had ANOTHER one! So that's 8 kits, 4 alive, 4 dead. Chai is just freaked out... this is a rough pregnancy. Counting blessings one by one! Glad I was able to save four *so far, this bunny just keeps on going!*
Oh wow!! I hope her instincts kick in and she starts building a nest. I’m so happy for you that some are alive!
3 left. I'll try to have her nurse them later this morning. The last kits are doing really well.
Did they die from being cold or do you think they are premature?
It's so hard to tell, but I would guess that's why. The cold- no, the garage was probably in the low 70's. I put a heat lamp on them and in the nest right away. My best guess is that they just are a first litter and mama and her body was just figuring it out!
Do they appear to be brokens or solid color?
I can only get orange and black FP for color from these two. They are all pink little babies!
