Broodies and their Babies

The pics are so adorable! If I can get this phone to work right, here's a pic of last May. My BO hatched 10 eggs.

I'm enjoying all pics so much. I don't think there's anything cuter than baby chicks w their mamas. This one is another from last spring. One of my Cochins is broody right now, but I have decided to only have more chicks once I make some adjustments to my coop. It's going to be a tough season trying to resist slipping some eggs under her + having to go to the feed store and resist the temptation of coming home w chicks

Just realized I never posted pictures of Sara my Serama here when she went broody last November. Chicks hatched around Dec 2nd.
It was brutally cold for a few days, so I brought her inside for the first week.

She was a great momma, at only 6 months of age herself.

What a spread!

No she didn't hatch all 21. Less than a week after going broody, she hatched 1 egg (from the incubator) that we slipped under her when it was on day 18. As the incubator chicks hatched, we put them under her. She thinks she's "Super-hen" for hatching all these chicks from one egg. Because she's a bantam, it's just easier to put her in the brooder. There's a supplemental "heating pad broody hen" but as you can see, they prefer the real deal.
