Broodies Doing Great...Nora and Panda- Bad News re: Smoky's

She has Fern's baby now and June's egg has a huge pip in it. Nothing yet from Becca and Amanda's eggs, though.

What day is Panda on? I am still keeping my fingers crossed for a splash girl!!

Panda is on Day 14 today, exactly one week behind Nora.

June's baby hatched, but I candled the remaining two eggs, both BRs, and they had each quit at some point after 10 days. So, Nora has three babies and she is doing great.

June's baby isn't all fluffed out yet, but it's very light colored. June is a blue-wheatenish-looking EE hen and of course, you know Isaac from my avatar. Odd combination, but may be a pretty bird.

I can't wait to see pictures. In the face of all this death and injury we have all had lately, the hatching of these little chickies is a comfort.

Tell Nora we are proud, and tell Panda to hold on!!!

I removed one of Panda's eggs, actually it was her very own egg that was a quitter. Not sure about the others, but she is on Day 15 Thursday, so it won't be long.

I agree that the new little ones are a bright spot here. And Roosevelt is a hunky boy now--I've been picking him up and taming him. Nugget is no longer mothering him, but she hasn't actually tried to push him away, either. He's 10 weeks old Saturday.

I'm excited to see Isaac's kids grow. Hope Nora is doing well.
