Broody hatch-a-long!!! With Pippin!

We have a Bluebell Egger who just hatched out 5 babies! She has three more eggs under her--one has a pip, another is internally pipped, and one isn't doing anything. So far, she's hatched two purebred gold sebrights, one Easter egger, one white baby with a top-notch, and one barred baby. The egg that's pipping right now is green, so another Easter egger is on the way!

Hopefully we can get pictures soon! It's cool and rainy and we don't want to disturb them too much.

josie, my first broody, hatched 4 eggs for me a week ago. she was 9 months old when she went broody. she was a super sweet broody and has been a great mama so far.

4 eggs fertile and alive! Saw them moving! Got rid of the infertile ones. So happy hope everything goes smoothly and Pippin's Mamma hen dreams can come true!

Hi, I’m Sue and I have a broody on Day 19. I hadn’t even thought of looking for a hatchalong before now. This is Violetta, just one year old. She’s half Spitzhauben half Sebright. She went broody 2 times in April, so I decided to let her be a mama. I only gave her 2 eggs since we have enough chickens. One looks like it quit, but I’m not sure, so I’ve left it. The other is definitely still alive. Today I closed off the coop and run that she occupies and so she’s in a sort of lockdown. I don’t know how she will fare, but we’ll find out soon!

We will join! My broody Ruth, has a week to go. Started w 10 eggs (from my ameraucana hens / BCM rooster), 9 going strong.


Her sister, Rose, is on day 5. Only gave her 5 eggs. I am thinking I will sneak in some extra chicks later.



Credit where it’s due, broody hen, Popeye, started this broody trend in our coop. Her babies are almost a month old. She has 5 Olive egger babies.

four adopted chicks (one still hatching in incubator). they haven't left the nesting box yet but i brought them food and water.

the eggs she's actually sitting on didn't work out. i'm guessing they chilled at some point.

My hen is currently sitting on 7 eggs all fertile and they are on day 15
4 silky eggs
1 Cochin x banyard mix hen
2 noiler eggs (noilers are just broiler hybrids. They grow really fast and lay eggs just like layers)
