I would give them a chance. As long as it was the same night the other hen went broody, I would guess the embryos are still viable
Thank you! It's crazy how these little chicks can live through that. I will post pictures when and if they hatch.As long as they weren't stone-cold, they should be mostly fine. It's amazing how hardy those little eggs can be! In fact, eggs are naturally supposed to cool down, as a mother hen would have to leave her nest to forage and drink in the wild. I wish you luck and hope you get some adorable chicks!
Wow!! That is amazing! That was very strong of the chick and very good thinking on your part!I had problems with hatching eggs this year as well, including when a day-19 egg got CRUSHED. Somehow, someway, the chick was still alive inside, and I decided to use electrical tape around the crushed part(leaving a gap so that the chick could break out) Not two days later, I checked the nest to see that the chick had survived! Now two months later, it is a happy, vigorous EE/BO pullet running around with its mom, siblings, and flock mates. Never underestimate a chick's will to survive!
