Broody Hen Off Eggs In The Middle Of Winter! No Incubator! Please help!

Some threads are more entertaining that anything on TV, I swear.

Seriously, good luck. With your high level of determination, I have little doubt you will hatch these chicks if it can be done.
:P I'll sure try, thermometer currently in, I'll wait a couple of minutes in order to see temp. Really hoping I can do this. (BTW at the moment they are on a hot water bottle covered by a blanket. I'll post a pic.

Next to or very near the hot water bottle might be better.
Be careful about over heating. I cooked some eggs on accident.

Probably too low, but if the eggs are chilly they might generate that last degree on their own over time. I'd wait and see how it goes.

Thanks, the eggs feel pretty warm, but I'll give them a new hot water bottle soon, and that might make it come up a bit.

Lol, just while I was writing this the temp came up to 37, just wondering if 38 will kill?

In your case it will have to do . Even body is short of ideal temperature for egg incubation .But people have hatched eggs wit nothing more than body heat . The trick is constant warmth. As close to ideal incubation temperature as possible . And with a lower temperature turn more often .:fl:fl:fl
