what did they do?I'm so POed at my girls!! They have, single handledly, managed to kill every single egg. Ill be absolutely if a single one hatches.
Grrrr.
They normally stop laying does her butt look flat compared to when she wasn't broody? The chances of her rejecting them depend on the bird itself some are more accepting then others I believe that if her chicks are over a week old or if the bator ones were a week old when introduced she would most likely not accept themI have a little itty bitty serama who has gone broody.
The last few days she has been on a clutch of 3 eggs. Suddenly today there is a 4th egg! Is this normal? I thought they stopped laying when they went broody? Two of teh original three already have some veining in them, so I'm worried the last guy will be behind.
Also - her boyfriend still lives with her. They are my only two serama and she gets really upset when I take him away. He is still mating with her, but doesn't really seem to be interfering with her sitting on the nest. He just mounts her while she sits on her clutch and she growls and life resumes. Is this ok? Do I need to worry about him and the babies? He is generally pretty aggressive to anyone new in his coop.
And last - I have a handful of serama eggs in the bator a couple days behind her - if they hatch, can I give the babies to her if her babies hatched a few days ahead of the bator babies? Should I give her the bator eggs before they hatch, or wait until they babies are out and give them to her then? What are the chances of her rejecting the bator babies?
Thanks!!!

Need picsSo all of the eggs have pipped!!! Out of dozen, 3 are pipped. 2 wrong end, 1 right end, one just poked the air cell. I've interfered WAY too much, I just want babies! Lol, but every Is doing good, even if I made them bleed a little. The first girl who pipped last night is good, another pipped (I picked a little so there's a hole and I can see if s/he's breathing or not) this morning, and I just found the brahma egg pipped. I picked so I could see the beak (I'd be paranoid w/o seeing a beak... I just freak that its dead..... ) and it looked shrink wrapped a bit, so I kinda picked the membrane, bled a bit, annoyed the chick, and then set back. I just hope I didn't screw with anything. I was looking at the one egg that didnt pip and I heard a little 'peep'. So cute. I can't wait for them hatch![]()
