Broody now!

I had 2 more to go broody on Friday. I have stopped counting.

Hey everyone! I just had my EE go broody a few days ago and have been enjoying reading everything I can find about it since she is my first. Good luck to everyone on their hatches.

Below are pics of all of the broody hens and broody activity that has been going on at my small farm.

Not a good pic but you can see 3 broody hens in their boxes. I let another Buff out with her kids. They are walking around the chicken yard.

I have 3 other broodys that are in another chicken house but the light was too dark on yesterday to take pics. Will try to pose the other 3 broodys tonight unless I get 1 or 2 more broodys. Then I will have 4 or 5 more pics to post.

I'm getting a little overwhelmed with the whole situation and I think that we're going to need to do some moving into separate brooders since they are taking up both of the nestboxes. Anytime one of the non broodies tries to go up and lay, the broody hens are all over them.

Fortunantly, two are just about ready for lockdown, so they will be going into separate areas tonight.

You've got some pretty mommas there though!
