Buckeye Breed Thread

I seen a small flock of about twentysomething extremely critically endangered Buckeyes on Monday. All males at Jen's place! Don't think life will be safe for them much longer! BBQ time soon!

Ok my buckeye pals.

I rent a web server, it's huge, and just doubled in size again, I will never fill it up, ever. It is a real server, in a server farm somewhere in the internet cloud.

If you guys want some free webspace (no charge, no ads, no hassle) let me know.

You would own and control your domain name you just point it to your partition on the server, only you will have access and can put any website up that you'd like.
It should save everyone around $ 60- $ 100 a year. If you want some special program (wordpress, etc.) running it is not a problem, easily done. I will never ask for money or any sort of adspace/advertising.

Your portion of the server would be blank, nothing, nada on it. You would have to generate the code to make your site work, I of course can help.

There is some amazing web editing and authoring software out there, amazing.

I did this with wordpress, there is no charge to it, the software resides on the server and anyone authorized can edit it from any PC in the world, no special software, once it's up and running it is very simple to edit. http://www.buckeyechickens.com/

I
did this one with a product called Xara, it is amazing, http://www.xara.com/us/products/webdesigner/ extremely powerful and very simple, it really is just drag and drop. I did this site with it in about 10 minutes. http://www.brindlebullies.com/ $49 bucks from Xara and you own it.

And then of course you have the old tried and true programs for editing html. Frontpage, etc.

Odds are your kids can build you a very nice webpage really quick!!

You can go to Godaddy.com and buy a domain name ie. www.jimsfarmstand.com, once it's yours you set the DNS servers to my server. I can set you up with email ([email protected]) or just have the email forwarded to your existing email account,

Hi, I am new to this thread.
I was given 6 young hens by someone thst had to move. Two of them are buckeye's.
My husband and I have totally fallen in love with them.
They are beautiful and have a great personality for our flock....just fit right in.
We are going to get hatching eggs and increase the number in our flock.
So gald to find this thread so I can learn more bout the breed.

Here is a thought...buy a Buckeye rooster and hatch your own eggs!

When buying Buckeye hatching eggs, be cautious. Not everything you read is accurate. The Storey article gives several breeders that can be trusted to tell you accurate information. Hope this helps.

Please read the rules on promoting clubs.
