Thanks! It was picture day and the sheet was getting gross. I am going to have to buy some different, easy wash fabric for picture taking, cause the first thing they do is poop!

Hi Guys. I am soooooo far behind on posts. Last Friday I had one of those messages waiting on my computer that said, "You have Windows Updates waiting to be downloaded. Click here to continue." So I did. And, wouldn't you know it, after I downloaded them and restarted my computer I had MAJOR problems. Long story short, after spending hours and hours with Microsoft, I'm now back up and running albeit way too far behind on posts to catch up.

So I hope I didn't miss anything real important. Just thought I'd let y'all know that i moved the chicks from the brooder in the house to the outside chick house. I have a heatlamp in there and their doing really well. Got a pretty good scare the first night though. Evidently the heatlamp burnt out some time during the night because the next morning they were all huddled up under it but no light and no heat. And, wouldn't you know it, it got cold enough to put ice on the water that night which we hadn't had in a couple of weeks. But they made it through it alright. Tough little buggers! I'm really grateful.

Oh, and in case I didn't mention it before, these Buckeyes are exhibiting a behavior I've never seen before. You should see these little Buckeyes. Most of the time when I walk by the brooder or go to refresh their water or feed, all the chicks I’ve ever had before will just scatter. These six little ones actually come running over and stand around my hand to be petted. I mean, every time I reach my hand inside the brooder, they come running over to it and just stand there. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s really cute.

Is this something that y'all have witnessed with any degree of regularity?

God Bless,
