Buckeye Chicken Breeders

My latest batch of Buckeyes from the Shumaker pair in my avatar, hatched two days ago. I need to update the avatar pic as that was last October when the cock was only 10 months old, he has filled out a LOT since then. The latest-hatched chick on the right with the shell stuck to its butt, lost the shell and fluffed out and I can't tell anymore which one it was. One thing I've learned with this year's chicks (all breeds) is that my feed store chick starter crumbles (Nutrena brand) are too big -- I have to whirl it in my Vitamix blender to powder it, to feed them the first week. I actually starved some chicks before learning that :-( I have one more batch of Buckeyes, Welsumers and Spangled Russian Orloffs due to hatch in two weeks; then I have to stop hatching for a while because I'm going out of town for a couple of weeks in May -- my annual mom-and-sisters visit.

I have a small of buckeyes from a hatchery I got this spring and vary happy with them they free ranging and happy with me too
I have both lists of breeders hoping to have breeders stock
Be for I contact each one , do you know some one that can and is willing to ship to
Hawaii ?

Are you looking for chicks or adult fowl? I know that Jeff Lay and Joe Shumaker have shipped birds long distances. I am not sure what restrictions other than NPIP Hawaii places on incoming fowl.

Hi sounds good hoping for. Day olds or hatching eggs , I think is easy with NPIP
Older then 4weeks is more difficult
